Huawei`s recently launched P9 Plus during May 2016 had made us hold at the back of our seat for a new flagship model to release. Until recently when the company`s CEO had confirmed that the Mate 9 will be out by mid-November.
Fueled by Huawei`s own HiSilicon Kirin 960 2.4GHz Octa-core chipset along with 4GB RAM, the internal memory of 64GB is enough to store most of the applications you'll most likely require with an optional storage slot for multimedia and photos. Huawei has added a new technology called Machine Learning Algorithm in the Mate 9, which is programmed to make your phone runs faster over time. The second-generation Leica dual lens camera in the phablet has what it takes to challenge Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for the converted crown of best camera phone.
In terms of hardware, Huawei has grown from strength to strength due to the partnership with Google with the release of Nexus 6P. At first glance, it really feels the same built quality as the Nexus 6P with the similar metal frame covering the entire 5.9-inch display. It is also running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS with an interface similar to iOS called Emotion UI. iPhone users will have no problem adapting to the software.

I believed that Note 5 was the best feature packed Phablet …Until I used the Mate 8!! …Huawei has a champion at its hands here :) it easily gives some of the best phones run for its money and here why; The Good: The Build quality is amazing, its metal clad premium ergonomic design is so refined that in spite of having a 6 inch screen the phone it's actually smaller than a few flagship phones with smaller screen size (5.7 inch and 5.5 inch). Battery Life is amazing, 64GB internal storage with 4 Gigs of RAM with Expandable storage upto 256GB! Camera is great and at par with other flagships, Finger print scanner is super quick and responsive, with some unique features like- ability to answer a call, control the navigation bar, ability to click a picture. Also few feature highlights like– screen recording, scroll capture screenshots. 4000 mAh battery with fast charging. Audio quality from external speaker and thru headphones is good. Performance - Kirin 950 chip is super-fast and efficient, even under intensive use case scenarios it never stuttered & was buttery smooth. The Bad: The user interface EMUI is what Huawei calls it. Well quite frankly it’s good and quite stable as I have mentioned above, but it may frustrate you at times.
The Ugly; Nah! It’s almost perfect :)
This is a champion Phone from Huawei for sure! Power users & Phablets lovers out there -Mate 8 is the Mate you Need!! Pun intended :) (Posted on 09/06/2016)
